Figures on my work usually don't do too much. They're pretty introverted and communicate very little with one another. I sometimes wonder if they aren't under enormous psychological tension.
Take this woman on my painting Las Vegas Bar. The customers are gone or haven't appeared just yet (as there's hardly any daylight it's very difficult to tell time in a Las Vegas hotel lobby where this bar is located.) She's just standing there fiddling with something we cannot see. Probably washing a glass or two. All we see is her vulnerable back which pushes the viewer into the role of voyeur.
