I had been sitting in a bustling, crowded museum, watching the fast-paced rush of modern life. People were moving quickly, checking their phones, rushing from one famous artwork to the next. The world felt loud, fragmented, and hurried.
Then, a man walked directly toward Klee’s Bridge and Sun, completely transfixed by its patchwork grid of warm orange, yellow, and red squares. Watching him, I realized that Klee’s abstract city—painted nearly a century ago—was doing exactly what art is meant to do. It acted as a bridge across time, lifting this city dweller out of his hectic daily routine and carrying him into a moment of quiet warmth.
