In this painting, I portray the Secretary General of NATO, Mark Rutte, pausing before a vibrant red double Pop Art portrait of Anne Frank. I was directly inspired to create this piece after hearing Rutte speak publicly about the realities of modern war.
With this painting, it is my sincere hope that we don't forget the raw horrors of war, with Anne Frank standing as one of its most enduring and poignant symbols.
