Psychology Of Clothes

Have you ever observed the effect of clothes upon impressions? It’s pretty amazing and shows how strange human nature can be at times.

Children are thaught not to judge a book by its cover, but nevertheless people all do it from time to time. In the case of human beings we first judge each other by appearances. For the most part that appearance consists of the way we groom ourselves and yes, by the clothes we wear.

Of course there are exceptions, a few geniuses, a few positive characters who are able to give a favorable impression to others in spite of their clothes. But for the rest of us the world forms his first and most lasting impressions of a man or woman by the clothes he or she wears.

An appearance of prosperity attracts attention always, with no exceptions whatsoever. Moreover, a look of prosperity attracts favorable attention, because people take this to mean that you’re successful, put together and all that good stuff in all areas of your life. Of course it doesn’t necessarily have to be true but that’s the impression it gives.

On the other hand, if your clothes are wrinkled, stained, sloppy or mismatched, others typically think you’re like that in other area’s of your life as well. That pretty much sums up the whole psychology of clothes. But not quite right.

You see, dressing well might impress others favorable or not, but proper attire affects you too always. Even if you’re by yourself with the curtains closed and nobody knows what on earth your’re wearing, those clothes affect your mood and the way you feel. People wearing athletic clothes feel athletic, pyjama’s make you lazy or sleepy, lingerie sexy and so on. Pretty amazing, isn’t it?

So like the woman on my painting be careful which clothes to pick. It has a great impact on how you feel all day. I recommend feeling great.

kind regards, Gerard
