A father, a mother and a child are looking at a map of downtown New York. The worldfamous Wallstreet is the scene where it all takes place. From the gestures of both the father as well as the mother you can conclude that these people are lost tourists. The child just waits untill her parents are ready to show her the right way again.
To me this is a perfect example on how things are with a lot of families nowadays. People get married, get divorced in no time and eventually they aren’t able to show their children the right way. They’re lost. This is what I’m trying to say by placing a family in front of a map.
It isn’t easy to find the right way again. I tried to emphasize this by painting a legenda but leaving the streetnames out. Nice detail is the kiosk on the background. It’s the same one as on the painting The Security. The policecar is that of the policeman on that painting. I'll post it soon!
kind regards, Gerard
